Figure Drawing
- Develop volumes and masses of the figure through cross hatching
- Develop a scale of values
- Organize your marks to follow the natural planar analysis of form
Homework:
- Compose a drawing with two feet on it
- Scale your feet up to take up most of the proportion of the paper.
- Place first foot towards the bottom of the pictorial space.
- Compose the second foot behind that drawing in space
- Think of activating negative space in your composition through a variety of values
- Make use of a full value range on both figures and within space
- Think of making full volumetric feet - they should not have any contour lines
- Think of directing a lighting source or sources on your subject
- Think of the emotion conveyed through each foot's gesture
Drawing scale = 10" x 14" or smaller
