Finding the Chi

The premise of Chi meditation technique is simple.
i. Many practitioners of it recommend that when inhaling, you think of taking life energy into your body.
ii. When you exhale, release that energy.

This breathing technique can be applied to almost all chi meditations and movements.

iii. When engaged in drawing gestural figures, think that you are recording a thread of energy moving around your body. Similar to one's breathe, this line appears alive, organic and reacts to your sensitive touch and pressure of your tool.

Expulsion from the Garden of Eden  (1828) – Thomas Cole Thomas Cole was born in Bolton, Lancashire in Northwestern England 1801. Cole’s family emigrated to the United States in 1818 where Cole would begin his painting journey. Not only is a primarily self-taught artist, he also worked as an itinerant portrait artist with members of the Philadelphia Academy. In 1825 was when Cole’s real career began. Thomas Cole has a love for nature and all its pieces as a whole, so he established his first rural studio at Cedar Grove within the Catskill mountains. The Catskills ended up being Cole’s first major success. His multiple landscapes of the stunning mountains grabbed the attention of known artists in New York City such as Asher Durand. Shortly after, Cole returned to his homeland of Britain for further studies and traveling around Europe. Wh
